Ways to Read RSS and Steps to Promote RSS Xml Feeds on Your Website

By: johnxuster

Do you notice some tiny XML or RSS buttons across sites? When you click on those buttons with curiosity, you only end up with some code that is really tuff to decode, really scaring you your way. But after you have clicked, what could you do? Read on to know what could be done. – Just a simple solution.

The XML or RSS buttons may be orange in color, with alphabets XML or RSS written across the button. Else word “Atom” or alphabets “RDF” could be over it. “Or even the word “Grab my feed” could be written on the button. Surprised to see so many initials or words for a single function?

On clicking the button, you end up with some code that looks similar to the source code of a web page. RSS can be defined as another web page that you can confidently ignore what that code is all about, as the priority goes to what that code ends up in.

The RSS results in a page that gives you the latest news on the topic that interests you. To explain it better, if you are attracted to the updates of share market, or mobile releases, or even about any blog updates, and you notice a feed for that topic, you will have to subscribe to the feed and you keep getting the messages via these feeds every time any update is done regarding the topic.

Now, how do you subscribe to the RSS feed? Note down the browser address (location) when you click on the RSS or XML button. The address usually starts with http://… It is the called as the “news header”.

With newsreaders, you can keep track of the various feeds that you are subscribing to. Newsreaders are plenty to choose. Some require you to download software, or visit a site. Some involve some investment and some are free to use. When you decide on the newsreader, just follow the instructions of the newsreader and subscribe to the feed with the address you have noted or add a new feed. The newsreader will keep you updated about the address that you have chosen Just do it to see the simplicity of the task.

How to Drive More Traffic to Your Site Simply by Commenting on Other's Blog

By: Kelvin Lee

Blogging has became one of the most popular trend in the internet world, you can hardly find someone who is successful online without their own blog.

I know it is hard to create a high traffic blog overnight but do you know that you can drive traffic to your site with other people high traffic blog.

This is what most people are talking about "Piggyback Traffic". Commenting on blogs that have huge traffic allows you to piggyback on the traffic of that blog and this can at least drive you quite a number of visitors every month and increase the number of back links to your site.

However there are some technique you should bear in mind when you are commenting on other people blog

1) Add comment with value: When I am talking about giving comment on other people blog, I am referring to valuable comment. I have seen such low value comment such as great job! you dude, how's it hangin that may get your comment deleted by the owner. Moreover, the better your comment, the more highly other readers of the blog think of you.

2) Always make respectful comment: Do not attempt to counter what the blog owner is trying to portrait. If you are unhappy with that post, you simply don't comment on it and you should not try to counter the owner and this will simply get you deleted and blocked on that blog in future.

With these two factors in mind when you are posting comments on other people's blog, you will get higher chance of getting approval from the blog owner and they will also see you as a valuable contributor to their blog.

Now try this method out and wait to see the result it brings to you.

How Little Things Like A RSS Button Can Improve Your Business

By: http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/david-ogden/49519.htm

If you are in desperate need of more traffic, but do not have a budget for that right now, a RSS feed and RSS button might be one little thing you could do to get more traffic from your blog.

Here are a few pointers to help get you started.

A blog used to be just an online journal where teenagers and people hung out posting their thoughts. Now it has become one of the most important parts of an Internet marketer's arsenal for getting more traffic.

Because blogging is so easy to do many people are doing that it never would have thought they could have in the past. We have always said if you can type, you can blog.

One thing that helps get traffic coming back to your blog on a regular basis is an RSS feed button. This button allows people to subscribe to your blog and be notified whenever you make an update to it.

In review RSS stands for really simple since syndication and is a place where they can grab your new content or review old blog post too.

When you make a new blog post it will pop up in their RSS feed reader also known as an aggregator. This is where people are allowed to look over the feed and the updated information in this post.

There are many various ways that you can add an RSS feed to your site including Feed Burner or various plug-ins if you use a blogging platform such as WordPress. It is something you can install yourself if you are not technically minded and of course you can hire out someone to install it for you.

The important point we want to make about having an RSS feed button on your site is people are becoming more used to seeing those. It lets them know that they can subscribe to your blog feed by clicking on the RSS feed button.

Therefore, you want to place it at the top of your blog where it can easily be found. By putting it above the fold you make it easier for your visitor to not even have to scroll if they decide to subscribe to your feed.

Getting repeat traffic is more easily accomplished when you have this button allowing people to subscribe to your RSS feed. As long as you are maintaining a quality blog with useful information you will increase your subscriber base and ultimately increase your business.

It's amazing how the little things like an RSS feed button can have such a major impact on Internet marketing business!

How To Be A Successful Blogger

Author: Sheryl Polomka

Thousands of people are looking for ways to make money online and although it sometimes sounds too good to be true it can actually be done. One of the most simple ways to make money online is by blogging and there are many people that are making a great income doing so.

You can blog about absolutely anything ranging from writing your own daily journals to writing about crafts, animals, cars or about blogging itself. There really is no limit to the topics that you can blog about. The income that bloggers make comes from the advertising that they place on the blog but it is not quite as easy as just writing blog posts and placing ads all over your blog. You do need to be strategic with the placement of your advertisements as you don’t want your blog to look like one big advertising blog.

Too much blatant advertising will make your blog cheap and nasty and not at all professional looking. You want your advertising to be subtle and to blend with the site and with the topic of the site. So don’t go advertising scrapbooking products if your site is about skateboards.

It is a good idea to get your blog up and running before even placing any advertising on it at all. Build up your reputation in your niche and establish some regular readers and then when you do recommend a product or two they are likely to trust your recommendations.

It is recommended to add an optin box to your blog so that you can build a subscriber list which is a great way to build a personal and trusting relationship with your readers. Once again though, when you send emails to your subscribers don’t just send lots of emails trying to sell things. Send your subscribers emails with good quality content that they will enjoy reading and occasionally recommend a product to them through the emails.

Building a relationship with your readers and gaining their trust can take your blogging business to a whole new level. You will increase your sales by a large amount by building a list and building that relationship. Once you have customers that trust you then they will come back and possibly be repeat buyers for the products that you recommend.

It is also important when you do recommend products to your readers that you only recommend good value products. Look at it as if you were in their shoes as I’m sure you would hate to have someone recommending a product to you only for you to find out that it isn’t worth the money you spend on it. To keep your subscribers trust so that they will be return buyers then it is important to only recommend good value products.

To sum it up, keep you blog interesting, tidy and of good value and you should become quite successful at making money by blogging. Remember to build a list and build a relationship with your subscribers and your sales will go through the roof.

Blogging Basics For Those New To Online Marketing

Author: Henry Griner

A blog is a website, an online publication of thoughts, opinions, and commentaries of the blogger. The blogger, on the other hand, is the person who maintains and posts entries in the blog. It is currently the hottest trend in online communication, as nearly everyone has read, commented on, or written a post. WordPress is by far the best software program to use for blogging and, it is free to everyone.

Most people who know how to use a computer will have no problem navigating the interesting and intriguing world of blogging. A cyber space novice, on the other hand, may require some steering directions. Below are some helpful tips for the new blogger in setting up their brand new virtual realestate on the internet.

1. What type of blog do you want?

There are basically 4 blog types. One is the most basic of all blogs where only texts are posted. Another one is the photoblog, where text is combined with pictures (the blogger gives more importance to the photographs rather than his textual message). One more type is the vlog, where online videos are the main media for communication. A popular site for vloggers is YouTube.Com. Lastly, we have the podcast. The podcast is an audio blog where the blogger actually speaks and saves his entry in a downloadable format, rather than in writing down his thoughts. Or a combination of two, three or all of those types of blogs.

2. Know the parts of your blog

Each entry customarily consists of the title, the body, and the post date. It helps your reader if they can follow a certain pattern (by title, by date, by category) in reading your blog entries. The presentation becomes much more organized and inviting to read.

3. Create a theme

Although blogging boasts of letting loose a person's creativity, it does not hurt to establish a certain topic or niche for your blog. It may be about travel, current events, movie reviews, or whatever you may like. The important thing is to stick to your topic to assist your readers in understanding and following your blog as a whole.

Most readers prefer to search and read about a particular blog that talks about a topic that they are interested in.

4. Watch your words

Your blog is your own. You have the power to say whatever you want. However, it is important to keep in mind that publishing it online gives access to just about everybody to read it. Because of that, in cases where you are touching a sensitive or controversial topic, it is still best to exercise prudence and precaution. Be careful of what you are posting about other people and other things.

Blogging is the newest way of linking people together sometimes referred to as Social Networking.

If you are interested in reading about travel and home to make money with a home travel business, you may wish to visit this new blog. http://hotglobalresorts.com

Sponsored-Blogging: Opportunities for Pay-for-Post Marketing - Now Availab

The Internet continues to make it difficult for traditional newspapers to survive, and some analysts and pundits are predicting that we'll see the last print newspaper go to bed for the last time within a generation. Web 2.0, Social Media and blogging - including citizen journalism - are quickly becoming the preferred way for many Americans to learn news, read commentary, and share opinions. It's no surprise then that Internet advertising dollars are shifting into the blogosphere - opportunities abound for individuals to monetize their blogs not only through display ad and pay-per-click ad placement on their blogs, but also through posts directly sponsored by advertisers and temporal blog "buys" where a given blog is sponsored by an advertiser over time. This report investigates the nascent sponsored-blogging market, how sponsored-blogging works, who the players are and how it makes money.

Sponsored-Blogging: Opportunities for Pay-for-Post Marketing pulls together the most pressing issues and considerations into one concise report, providing key insights and specific recommendations that bloggers, advertisers and ad networks can put to use immediately. Issues considered in this unique report include: CPMs relative to other internet ad modes; disclosure and transparency; mechanics; advertiser/blogger matching networks; market size.

Target Audience:

Advertising Agencies: Sponsored blogging is a creative new medium - are you fully briefed so that you can brief your clients?
Advertisers: Gain an understanding of the mechanics and considerations behind sponsored blogging, and what to look for when you are ready to spend.
Paid Bloggers: Learn what steps you can take to increase the value of your blog and the amount you get paid for each post.
Sponsored Blog Ad Networks: Specific steps can be taken to increase the average payment per blog post and provide better value to advertisers.
Online Advertising Networks: Sponsored blogging threatens to encroach on pay-per-click and banner advertising spending. Are you positioned to defend or capture territory?
Traditional Print Publishers: Understand the threat that sponsored blogging represents to your advertising revenue. Do you have a counter-strategy?
Readership, Circulation and Traffic Auditors: What new products could you introduce that tap this growing advertising segment?
Key Findings:

Sponsored blogging is a nascent, but growing, advertising vehicle with the potential to represent a substantial share of Internet advertising spending. It has the potential to be a $2 billion market - 5% of online ad spending - by 2011.
Sponsored blog posts are a unique online advertising vehicle in that they provide for more text and context than pay-per-click ads or banner ads.
Typical payments for sponsored blog posts are less than $10. But there are many things that bloggers and paid-blogging ad networks could do to increase that figure.
As bloggers invest more time and emotion in their blogs, they start to look ways to make money from blogging.
Bloggers walk a fine line between adhering to truth in advertising laws and maintaining a strong, trusting, readership base.
Bloggers who reported spending 20 or more hours per week on blogging tend to be making money from their blog (75%) and tend to be getting paid for blog posts (75%).

3 Of The Real Blog Post Secrets

Author: Susan Carroll

Getting your blog found, getting your blog posts read and getting readers back to your blog are the real blog post secrets for every internet marketing blogger.

With that in mind let's discuss 3 of the real blog post secrets.

Blog Post Secrets # 1 - Include your keywords in your title and your blog post.

One of the best ways to get your blog found is to have 1 or more of your blog posts found by the search engines. So before you put a title on your blog post do some research to find the keywords people are searching for and include those words in your title and in your blog post.

Blog Post Secrets # 2 - Your blog posts need to be interesting and friendly.

Providing valuable content is of primary importance however the way you present it is just as important. When you write, write as if you were talking to a friend. You want to build a relationship with your readers so put some personality into your writing. Remember, you're having a conversation with your reader. You aren't writing an essay or a lecture.

Blog Post Secrets # 3 - Make it easy for your readers to come back when you write a new post.

All blogs should offer an easy way for readers to be notified when a new blog article is posted. This is usually done by providing an RSS feed. Make sure you offer your RSS feed in an easy to see location on your blog.

While blogging is one of the newest and most successful ways to do online marketing it is, unfortunately, not done correctly by most internet marketers. Knowing and using these 3 blog post secrets gives you the opportunity to make your blog work as a successful online marketing tool.

Blogging Advice – What Every New Blogger Needs To Know

Author: jeremy

Blogging advice tailored for newcomers can be hard to find. With new terms and tools appearing daily, it can be confusing for new bloggers to know where to start. To learn the basics of blogging such as how to set up a blog and make money from it, keep reading; it's easier than you think.

First, pick which blog platform you would like to use. The top two contenders are blogger.com and wordpress.org. Here's some simple blogging advice if you're having trouble deciding. If you're entirely new to blogging, blogger.com is the way to go. If you're familiar with the basics of blogging or would just like to have more ''control'' over your blog, wordpress might be a better choice. No matter which option you choose, the process is simple. All it takes is filling out your name, email address and naming your blog.

Although each platform comes with its own web hosting, here’s some blogging advice every blogger should take. Purchase your own domain name. Not only will having your own domain be easier for your visitors to remember, it will add another level of professionalism to your blog.

After you've picked out which blogger platform to use and have started to set up your blog, the next step is choosing your template. Templates are pre-made designs for your blog. The best blogging advice when it comes to templates is to make sure that your template reflects the topic of your blog. It's more sensible to use a car template if your blog is about exotic cars, than it is to use a template about food.

You may not realize it, but you're halfway done. You've picked a blog platform, registered your blog name, and picked out your very own template. You may have also decided to register your own domain name. Now its time for some blogging advice that everyone wants to know - how to make money from your blog.

There are 3 main ways to monetize your blog - through traffic, content and ads.

Traffic for your blog can be obtained in many ways. While most people think you have to pay a huge amount of money to achieve traffic results, the following tips are not only free, but also simple.

The easiest way to earn money from your blog is by simply filling it with content. If you can remember this, it will become one of the best blogging advice you've ever received. The more relevant content that you add to your blog, the easier it will be for search engines to find it. This means more traffic, which equals more money. When you first begin to blog, try to post several times a week and eventually work up to blogging on a daily basis. Readers like to know that every time they visit your blog, they will read something new.

Don't worry if you don't like to write; content comes in different forms. No longer is writing the only way to fill up a blog. Videos, podcasts and even games are now considered content.

Once you've filled your blog with content, the next step is to add your blog to social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking sites are websites that cater to sending readers to blogs based on their personal interests. The top social bookmarking sites include StumbleUpon, Digg, Technorati, Reddit, Propeller, Fark, and Del.icio.us. However, many bookmarking sites prohibit any marketing ploys; so to minimize risk, bookmark 4 to 5 non-self-serving links for every self-serving link you bookmark. Post comments on other people’s bookmarks and be an active participant in the discussions. Bookmark sites that other people have bookmarked so you’ll be seen as part of the community.

Another effective way to create income is by signing up for affiliate programs and promoting them on your blog. This is not only great blogging advice, but can be used for other ventures as well such as websites. Every time a visitor purchases an affiliate product from your blog, you get paid a commission for it. The commissions can range any where from a few bucks to hundreds of dollars. The tip to remember when it comes to affiliate marketing is to pick programs and products that are related to your blog. It’s much easier to get your visitors to sign up for a recipe subscription if your blog is about cooking, than it is to get them to sign up for a stock market subscription.

One last tip for creating money for your blog is to place ads. This can be done in various ways. One of the most popular ways is through Google adsense. Each time a visitor clicks on one of the adsense ads, you get paid. It's also free to sign up for an account. As a bonus, if you signed up under the blogger.com platform, all it takes are a few clicks to get adsense onto your blog. If you chose wordpress, the setup is still easy. You just simply install a plug-in to add Google adsense to your blog.

A lot of people will tell you that this is the blogging advice they wished they would've received when they first started to blog. Not only do you now know how to setup a blog, you also learned how to profit from it. Now the only thing you have to do is go create your blog and start earning!

Media type blogs comprise of videos, links, sketches, photos, etc.

An Artlog is a format of blog in which sharing and publishing of art work is done predominantly rather than textual work.

Further we have blogs on particular subjects such as political blogs, established by politicians and political candidates to post their opinions on war and other political issues and as a news source and to bond with constituents.
Though blogging had a slow start, it gained popularity rapidly and its usage spread gradually with the arrival of blog tools. Now it has become a kind of mainstream because it is updated daily and the viewer knows that something changes every day and there is also a personal point of view and on some sites you can even respond with the Web sites and its participants.

How To Edit a Blogger Template

By Brad Schneider

I was recently asked "How do I edit a template in Blogger? Well, this is a very easy thing to do.

First, you would need to sign in to the Blogger dashboard. After you select your blog, select "templates"

Then you will need to scroll down until you find code that refers to your sidebar. This will normally be towards the very end (This depends on your template). Once you find your links area, simply copy and past your code snippet, pretty much anywhere.

You can preview to make sure you get it right. After you're happy with the way it looks, you will need to save the changes.

Once your changes are saved, Press the "Republish" Button, and you're all set!!!
